As part of the Skibbereen Arts Festival, The Gaza Monologues will be performed at Skibbereen Town Hall in a powerful local production directed by Palestinian filmmaker and theatre maker Nasser AlSwirki. Originally developed in 2009 by ASHTAR Theatre, Palestine, with twenty young people, these monologues were updated in 2024 by the original authors. The result is a moving and vital series of testimonies that capture the lived experiences of those in Gaza, reflecting on survival, loss, and the enduring search for humanity amidst destruction. These texts have resonated globally, shared in over 62 countries and across diverse venues, and will now be brought to life by local actors, musicians, and members of the community.
